WHAT IS

SUSTAINABLE FASHION?

Sustainable fashion refers to clothing, shoes, and accessories produced, marketed, and utilized in the most environmentally and socio-economically responsible way possible.

FAST FASHION FACTS, DID YOU KNOW?

90% of dye houses and textile manufacturers

Discharge their waste directly into local freshwater sources in developing countries.

PRODUCES 5 TIMES MORE CO2

Compared to the aviation industry, which generates 10% of global carbon emissions.

9.5 TRILLION WATER

Each year, the fashion industry contributes to 20% of industrial water pollution through the treatment and dyeing of textiles.

Sweatshops = Poor Working Conditionsrs

Extended hours with minimal pay, dusty and overheated environments, restricted personal freedom, and exposure to hazardous dyes.

PESTICIDES

Not only do they affect soil and water, but they also impact the animals living within those ecosystems.

COTTON PRODUCTION

Crops that use more pesticides than any other, and synthetic dyes, which are typically toxic, end up contaminating water streams.

A considerable quantity of fossil fuels

Are utilized beyond the production of cotton, including its transportation from where it is grown, through its transformation into fabrics and clothing, to its final point of sale.

80 BILLION

Every year, various pieces of clothing are utilized globally.

150 BILLION

Each year, garments end up in landfills.

In fact, the fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world!

Have you ever been so passionate about something that you couldn’t stop pursuing it?

That’s exactly how we feel, and we want to share our story—a story meant to inspire and encourage you to embrace mindfulness and sustainability.

We are Sustainme. Founded in 2018 with a commitment to sustainability, our approach is honest, transparent, and conscientious. Our mission was clear: to be more than just another clothing brand.

Driven by a deep concern for the environment, our aim is to prevent further harm to Mother Nature.

Having been part of the fashion industry long enough to witness its detrimental impact on both the planet and people, we understand its role as the second most polluting industry globally, known for its continuous toxic effects.

FIND

MATERIAL AND TECHNOLOGY

This is a crucial aspect of our process: we meticulously select each fabric based on its environmental impact and long-term durability. We exclusively use Class A and B fibers and will continually seek out the most responsible materials and technologies available. This means we use only natural, renewable, recycled, biodegradable, or low-impact textiles.

100% COTTON

“100% cotton” indicates that the fabric is not blended and is made from a natural product with fibers sourced directly from the cotton plant, offering strength, softness, and comfort.

At Sustainme, we collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the cotton supply chain to drive significant and ongoing advancements in environmental sustainability, the well-being of farming communities, and the economies of cotton-producing regions.

Purchasing this garment supports sustainable cotton farming practices and the livelihoods of cotton farmers.

ORGANIC COTTON

We use GOTS-certified organic cotton, and those four letters signify a lot for both you and the planet. This collection is crafted from carefully selected, chemical-free organic cotton grown along the Aegean Sea. Known for its exceptional softness and durability, this cotton is among the best in the world. The GOTS certification also ensures that the workers involved in making these garments receive fair wages and are treated with respect.

PIMA COTTON

Pima cotton is recognized as one of the highest-quality cotton varieties, known for its exceptional durability and absorbency.

Its long fibers make Pima cotton soft to the touch and resistant to fraying, tearing, pilling, wrinkling, and fading.

Pima cotton production tends to have a lower environmental impact compared to other cotton types. Unlike most cotton, which is harvested by machine, Pima cotton is typically handpicked. This method preserves the integrity of the fibers, reduces waste, and minimizes the overall environmental footprint of the fabric.

RECYCLED COTTON BLEND

Recycling involves converting used materials (waste) into new, valuable products, thereby reducing the need for raw materials.

For this collection, we are utilizing 100% recycled blends of cotton, polyester, nylon, and viscose.

LENZING TENCEL

TENCEL fibers help maintain environmental balance by being integrated into nature´s cycle
